World-famous surrealist painter Salvador Dali was known for his genius and eccentricities, but did you know he also owned a pet anteater? If you know anything about Dali, you’ll probably conclude that this is an ironically fitting photo of him. You can read more about the photo’s backstory here.
Takashi Murakami is truly a genius. Only the most creative mind could come up with something like this. Who else can weave cartoon mice, psychedelic colors, Louis Vuitton, flowers, and Japanese text together into a cohesive piece (that’s actually appealing!)? If you have the time and are interested in art, I’d recommend checking out some of Murakami’s museum galleries; they’re very much worth browsing through.

Kanye West’s Portrait of Power. I found it a bit odd (read: off-putting) that this “moving painting” premiered on MTV following this week’s episode of Jersey Shore. How does someone as brilliant/bizarre as Kanye coexist in America’s mainstream consciousness with the likes of Snooki and The Situation? I guess I’ll just add that question to my list of things to ask God when I get to heaven… right along side “What ever happened to the dinosaurs?” and “How many licks does it really take to get the center of a Tootsie Pop?”
This looks like the ultimate Rubik’s Cube to me, pretty impressive. I can hardly solve a six-sided one, let alone a multidimensional puzzle such as this.
DUBAI ON DISPLAY: Dubai opened the world’s tallest skyscraper Monday in a blaze of fireworks. The 2,717-foot Burj Khalifa is a $1.5 billion “vertical city” of luxury apartments, offices and a hotel designed by Giorgio Armani. It also will contain the world’s highest mosque (on the 158th floor) and a swimming pool. (Charles Crowell/Bloomberg) via WSJ
