This pretty much sums up how I feel right about now - the song is Charles Hamilton’s “In Case I Actually Get Her”; it’s a good listen and explicates a lot of thoughts and emotions better than I could. Pretty deep stuff for a hip-hop song, in my opinion.

Today’s track of the day is a unique hybrid of rap and rock, and we mean that in the best way possible. Travis Barker’s oft-delayed solo album is finally seeing the light of day in a month or two, and today brought around the release of the first official single off of the album. Featuring an all-star lineup of Lil Wayne, Game, Swizz Beatz, and Rick Ross, “Can The Drummer Get Some?” is a blaring, anthemic track filled with spectacular verses by all, as one might expect. Be looking for this one to be hitting radios everywhere sometime next month, even though this will have fully dissipated through the mass consciousness of the internet approximately 0.263984 seconds after this posting. Not a bad way to start off a weekend, right? Thought so. Enjoy!

I’ve been listening to this song a lot lately - one of Chris Brown’s latest songs is called “Glitter” and features the up and coming Detroit phenom Big Sean, who is set to release his debut album later this year. Brown himself is working on his second post-Rihanna debacle album, tentatively titled “Fame”. We’ll see how that goes. As long as no more shots are taken, I’m sure we’ll soon be witnessing a resurgence of the pop superstar on the Billboard charts. Until then, enjoy!

Well, well, well…look who’s back with a new single! After busting out of Riker’s Island and completely destroying Birdman’s remix of “Fire Flame”, Lil Wayne is back with his first official single since being incarcerated back in March. This latest song, entitled “6’7’ (Six Foot Seven Foot)”, features new Young Money signee Cory Gunz and some very A Milli-esque production, courtesy of frequent collaborator Bangladesh. Wayne drops ridiculous metaphors left and right, including the unforgettable line, “I just got through that sentence like a subject and a predicate”. Looks like Wayne’s back for real this time. If this is any indication of what’s being cooked up out in Miami for Tha Carter IV, it looks like Mr. Carter very well may be showing up on more than a few awards shows in the coming year. But now that the track is out…what are your thoughts? Is this a worthy precursor to the upcoming album?
