In my opinion, Stones on the Dancefloor is one of the standout tracks off of what was supposed to be rapper Charles Hamilton’s debut album, Tafietu. Sadly, after Interscope executives heard the last two tracks (this being one of them), they shelved the release of this incredible body of work - ironically, the title Tafietu is an acronym standing for “The Album for Interscope Executives to Understand”. Unfortunately, they didn’t. Instead, Interscope pressed for Hamilton to come up with This Perfect Life. Still, Hamilton’s second effort came up short and soon after, Interscope CEO Jimmy Iovine dropped Hamilton from Interscope. Ever since then, Charles has faded out of the public spotlight and into random blog entries, mental hospitals, and the acceptance of those who listen to left-of-center music in general. The sample of this song sounds familiar, but as of right now, it’s escaping me - anyone have any ideas?
A visual for one of the most recognizable lines of the year, I can really relate to this one now.
