The premise of this video is that through all the news headlines and media hype in the present day, one can be led to believe that there is no hope for society and the future of the human race. In just over 2 minutes, this video shows some incredible examples of significant innovations that have happened just in the past 5 years and point to the contrary, including:
- Scientists who have developed machines that can give the deaf nearly full hearing.
- Businessmen and astrophysicists who created this company with the intent of mining and harnessing the natural resources of asteroids.
- Honda, a car company which has also developed an internet-enabled robot with incredibly advanced artificial intelligence and human characteristics.
- Google, an internet company which has developed and is testing self-driving cars and will likely bring them to market within 15 years.
- SpaceX, which last month became the first private company to successfully launch a rocket with payload, dock with the ISS, and return to Earth safely.
There is certainly a lot wrong with our world, but some things are going in the right direction, and regardless of whether or not they actually succeed, it’s encouraging to see people who are interested in bettering the future of our planet by harnessing the power of technology.
