This was taken a couple of months ago during a very busy day down in San Antonio. I love this place. I think next time I’ll do a 360 degree panorama of the room, just to show all of the equipment in there.

A New Start
It’s been way too long since I’ve updated you all on my personal life here so I figured I may as well do so now. After looking at all of the universities on my “To-Consider” list and evaluating the final costs of each, factoring in financial aid and scholarships, I have determined that Concordia University here in Austin, Texas will be the best fit for me. Not only is it close in distance to my home and community, but it is also less than 2 miles up the road from where I work. This will make for both a quick commute and a good way to save money, being that I won’t have to spend much on gas (relatively speaking). This way, I’ll also be able to make back some of the money I’m losing paying for school; it will be nice to have some sort of income stream all the way through school. I was also awarded a very generous academic Presidential Scholarship and a community scholarship, which combined will cover more than half of the expenses per year up-front. This alone is a huge blessing. Starting off, I am planning on majoring in International Business, and hopefully that will turn out to be a good fit for me - but you know what they say about people changing their majors 3 times or more while in college. I attended orientation a couple of weeks ago and enjoyed it; it provided a good taste of how a typical day will flow for me. I am still waiting on my final class schedule however, so I won’t know exactly what classes I’ll be taking for a couple weeks yet. I’m very much looking forward to the upcoming school year and this entering a new stage in life, and I’m going to try and keep you all updated as frequently as I can. You may also notice a new layout on this site. That’s something I just finished, and I’m slowly going to be adding more features in the coming weeks. Comments are already live, to leave one (I’d appreciate it), just click the square icon in the upper left-hand corner of every post. Let me know how you like it! Until next time…

Had a nice trip to Starbucks a couple of weeks ago and decided to capture the simple pleasures of the moment with my camera lense. Summer is really a great time.
I’m loving the May 2009 edition of Monocle magazine, which covers topics from tracking pirates off the coast of Somalia to keeping on track with your workflow, Swiss style. It’s a great read and I highly recommend it to anybody interested in current events and foreign affairs.
A Brief Update
Just wanted to give you all a quick update on my college situation, so here’s what’s going on - essentially all I’m doing right now is waiting for Howard-Payne and Abilene Christian University to let me know the exact dollar amount of the scholarships I’m going to receive. Once I get that, I can tally up the final out-of-pocket cost for all three colleges, after which I will make my final decision on where I will ultimately be attending in the fall. Thank you again for all of your support; I should be hearing from the colleges in the next couple of weeks so I’ll he sure to put up a post soon detailing what exactly happens there. As always, feel free to leave a comment!
